Wausau, Wis. (April 23, 2019) Employees at Peoples State Bank are involved in several community building projects to help draw attention to the Wisconsin Bankers Association Power of Community campaign. Peoples locations throughout Marathon County are serving as collection sites for the United Way’s Community Baby Shower; employees are volunteering in the Adopt-a-Classroom project to build a literacy kit and teach children about healthy eating; teaching financial literacy through Junior Achievement; and volunteering for the Ghidorzi Foundation’s Green & Clean work day.
“Serving the communities where we’re located is second nature to Peoples and our employees,” said Scott Cattanach, Peoples State Bank President and CEO. “As a local business, we’re only successful when our customers and communities are successful.”
During the week of April 22-26, banks throughout Wisconsin are participating in the Power of Community campaign to highlight the role banks play in the communities they serve.
“We look for ways for our employees to be involved in the communities they serve,” said Cattanach. “We’re a community bank, not just a bank in your community.”
In 2018, the 170 employees of Peoples State Bank as a group volunteered more than 8,000 service hours in their communities. That’s more than 40 hours per employee on average for the year.
Bankers will be using #BanksPowerWI on social media channels during their events across the Badger State.
