Rhinelander, Wis. (July 30, 2018) On Friday, August 10 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Peoples State Bank will be hosting its 2nd annual Police and Fire Appreciation cookout at 1255 Lincoln Street, Rhinelander. Profits made from this event will be split equally and donated to the Rhinelander Fire Department, Rhinelander Police Department, and Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
This cookout is held to recognize and show appreciation for safety personnel who are responsible for keeping our communities safe. “We want to give the public an opportunity to spend time with those who make our community a better place,” said Craig Lau, vice president-commercial lending at Peoples State Bank. “We’re proud to support those who protect us and keep us safe.”
Peoples will be offering $5 brat baskets that include one brat, chips and a beverage. Local firefighters and law enforcement personnel will be in attendance and emergency vehicles will be on display.
Last year this event brought in nearly 350 people and raised $1,600. The departments put their money towards things such as the Oneida County Dive Team, the DARE program, and K-9 program.
