Wausau, Wis. (January 19, 2021) Peoples State Bank provided a $5,000 grant to Bosacki’s Chocolates & More of Minocqua. The money is part of a $15,000 Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) of Chicago “Targeted Impact Fund” grant for businesses hard hit by COVID-19. Peoples is a member of the FHLB and applied for the funding to support relief efforts of minority and women-owned businesses.
“Bosacki’s has been a staple on the historic boardwalk in Minocqua,” said Peoples State Bank Minocqua Branch Manager Cory Erickson. “We knew how hard COVID-19 hit their business, so choosing them to receive the funds made great sense.”
“We lost Easter and Mother’s Day revenue due to the pandemic, which really hurt our business a lot,” said Cathy Bosacki. “It’s been a struggle, so the $5,000 will really have a big impact on us.”
Bosacki is a fourth-generation candymaker, and says the family has had a business in the Minocqua area since 1917. In addition to chocolates, her business sells other treats and gift items.
Peoples also provided $5,000 to Balloon Decorations, LLC of Milwaukee and $5,000 to Travel Consultants of Wausau, Inc. as part of the $15,000 grant fund from the FHLB.
